Master Henry Chung comes from a long line of Chinese martial artists. His father, Ho Yin Chung, is Grandmaster of Seven Star Praying Mantis and was one of the top disciples of the Great Grandmaster Wong Hon Fun ("The Mantis King").

SiFu Henry Chung began his training with his father Ho Yin Chung in Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu at age four in Hong Kong. Besides mastering Mantis Kung Fu, SiFu Chung also learned Wu Style Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Eagle Claw Kung Fu from his father. SiFu Chung began teaching Kung Fu at the Catholic Community Center at the age of 17.

In 1979, SiFu Henry Chung left Hong Kong and moved to Canada to attend University and this is when he began teaching Kung Fu in North America. In 1983 SiFu Henry Chung moved to USA and continued teaching KungFu, while he was pursuing his Masters degree in Clinical Psychology.

In 1986, Sifu Chung moved to Midland Michigan and he began teaching Kung Fu full time. During the last twenty three years he has been actively promoting traditional Chinese Martial Arts such as hosting national and international annual tournaments at NorthWood University.

In 2000, SiFu Chung brought his students to mainland China to compete in the Shandong Tsang Tao International martial arts tournament championship. All of his students who competed in the tournament came home with two gold medals and one silver medal. Over the last two decades SiFu Chung's students continued to participate in numerous competitions in both national and international tournaments.
